Xyloplate : advanced timber engineering

Objective : develop a research platform dedicated to reliability analysis and mechanical biometric systems based on wood from tree-building continuum

  • Develop integrative methods (metrology, knowledge management...) updating numerical models of the behaviour of engineering materials : application to complex structural systems of large dimensions.

  • Elaborate and valorize large databases associating performances and morphologies of basic structural components.

  • Characterize, by associated digital and experimental channels, the variability sources of dimensional employment systems.

  • Formalize predictive rational approaches of the scale changes (intergration of heterogeneous wood).


  • Heterogeneous biometrics (image tracking, stereovision, interferometry, multipoint lazer measures, vibrometre lazer...)

  • Experimental sites (climatic chambers, creep tests, portal tests...)

  • Stations for calculating models
